It’s always a pleasure to see young brands expanding their product lines, and today we’re happy to see our friends at Jack Donnelly are doing just that.  It’s no secret that we’re huge fans of their Dalton pants and shorts, and we’re sure that the latest addition to their lineup is going to be just as fantastic.  Gentleman (and ladies), as of today Jack Donnelly is no longer simply a place for khakis.  We’re happy to help introduce the newest addition to their lineup, The Carters.

Griffin Sunglasses by Warby Parker

On March 18, 2013, in Eyewear, by Ryan & Ben

More than any other day of the week it seems that we are most dependent on our sunglasses on Mondays.  Though we are always eager to get the week started, the Monday morning sun tends to burn a bit brighter in the early hours and a quality pair of sunglasses is always our first line of defense.  With what is arguably the biggest drinking day of the year falling on a Sunday this year we have a feeling we are far from the only ones relying heavily on a pair of shades this morning.  Our pick today is the Griffin from Warby Parker.

In our younger years, St. Patrick’s Day was all about finding the cheapest and greenest beer in town.  Those days aren’t too far behind us, but now we find ourselves far more interested in sipping on a fine Irish Whiskey this weekend than pounding neon green Coors Lights. If you are in the same boat, a great flask will definitely come in handy over the next couple of days.  Our favorite flask for St. Patrick’s Day festivities remains the Clover Needlepoint version from our friends at Smathers & Branson.  The post below originally ran on St. Patrick’s Day of 2011.

Corey by The Cordial Churchman

With St. Patrick’s Day only two days away, there was no way we were choosing anything but a green bowtie for Bowtie Friday this week.  Whether you’re looking for something that is themed for the day, or something more low key that you can wear more than once a year, there are certainly a number of great options out there.  One that recently caught our attention is the Corey bow from The Cordial Churchman.

Packable Blazer by Brooks Brothers

On March 14, 2013, in Blazers, by Ryan & Ben

Everyone knows a classic navy blazer is a staple piece in a wardrobe, but instead of stopping at just one we like the idea of having a few to choose from.  Luckily for us it seems that the design team over at Brooks Brothers shares our train of thought.  You already know all about the quilted blazer Brooks Brothers released last year, but did you know they’ve added a packable blazer to their collection?

Runwell by Shinola

As much as we love our Weekenders, we’ve been thinking about stepping our watch collections up a bit as of late.  Though you won’t see us wearing a Rolex just yet, we’re definitely getting the itch to pick up something new.  Recently we were turned on to a company based in Detroit that is turning out a great looking watch that may just end up being the next one in our collection.  Yes, you read that right, Detroit.  From Shinola comes the Runwell.

St. Patrick’s Day Picks

One thing we love about St. Patrick’s Day is that everyone we know participates in the celebration.  Literally, there is not a single person we know who won’t be sporting some green this Sunday and many of our friends have already used the “celebrating” excuse to go out and tip a few back this month.  Of course, nobody wants to be the guy who looks like he dug through his closet at the last minute to find something green, so today we’re featuring some of our favorite green items that will be a good choice no only on St. Patrick’s Day, but any day.

With an extra hour of daylight just begging to be filled, we think it’s about time to break out the sticks and see just how much the old golf game has deteriorated over the last few months.  Regardless, squeezing in nine holes before sunset, or at least hitting a bucket of balls, is never a bad way to end the day.  This year we think we’re going to start working a few more visors into our rotation, and some of our favorite options come from our friends at Smathers & Branson.  Luckily for you, we’re happy to announce that we’ll be giving one away this week to a lucky Bowties & Boatshoes reader.

From the Archives: Weekender by Timex

On March 9, 2013, in Accessories, by Ryan & Ben

While many will complain about “losing” an hour of sleep this weekend, we’ll be happily moving all of our clocks up an hour and enjoying the extra hour of daylight.  In fact, to celebrate the occasion we may have to go out and pick up another Timex Weekender.  Priced right, and more versatile than we could have ever imagined, these watches have become a favorite for us.  The post below originally ran on December 27, 2011.

Pickled Paisley Bow by Bird Dog Bay

It’s hard for us to believe that it’s been nearly a year since we’ve featured a bowtie from our friends at Bird Dog Bay.  Their ties are truly top notch, and their designs are some of the best in the business.  While we’ve only featured themed Bird Dog Bay ties in the past, that’s only part of their fantastic lineup.  Today our Bowtie Friday pick is the Pickled Paisley bow.
