Though we hope we’re a few months away from having to retire our boatshoes for the year, we’ve already started to think about what might need to be added to our footwear rotation this Fall. This year, our goal is to integrate a few textures and/or colors that aren’t currently represented in our lineup. One option that is high on the list comes from our friends at Oak Street Bootmakers in the form of their Peanut Suede Vibram Sole Trail Oxfords ($302).

Though we are long past our days in a dorm room, we can look back and credit the first time we ever walked into one as the day we realized just how important a versatile wardrobe is. With minimal storage space, having pieces that could work in multiple capacities was absolutely key in college, and we’ve maintained that sentiment ever since. Even if we aren’t on campus for a game, we tend to break out our gameday gear nearly every Saturday during college football season. That being said, on the weekends that we know we’ll be firmly planted in front of the television for the vast majority of the day, or off weekends, we scale things back a tad. Though we spend most of our time on the water “under power,” one of our absolute favorite places in Annapolis is the training vessel marina at the US Naval Academy. There, you’ll find their fleet of blue hulled sailboats with names like Brave, Honor, and Courage, sparkling against the waters of the Severn River. That marina was the first thing we thought of when we saw the Sailboat Print and Gingham Bowtie ($68) by General Knot & Co.

Everyone knows that we have a soft spot for red, white, and blue clothing and accessories. We also have quite the soft spot for repp stripes. When you put them together you’re bound to grab our attention. While our patriotic tie collection is pretty set, we aren’t stopping there. Thanks to Kiel James Patrick and his Werewolf in Dublin Belt ($112), this great looking combination is no longer relegated to our necks.

For the last couple of days, the internet has been abuzz about something that everyone we know has in their closet, a casual blazer. That said, the blazer in question is unlike any we have seen before, and it has been polarizing to say the least. Though the Brooks Brothers Quilted Blazer ($228) won’t be replacing any of our go to blazers, it’ll definitely be in the rotation this fall.

We are absolute suckers for technology. We’re always looking for the latest and greatest toy, and, for the most part, do what we can to be connected at all times. All that being said, there’s definitely a wonderful freedom that comes along with shutting everything down for a day or two and just enjoying whatever adventure comes our way. Unfortunately, we won’t be disconnecting anytime soon, so the closest we’ll be getting to “Off the Grid” is this great looking sport shirt ($99.50) from Southern Tide.

To say we are excited about college football being less than a month away from kick off would be a gross understatement. Everyone we know has been cheering hard for “The States” this week, and with the momentum of Team USA we don’t expect those sentiments to change until the final Olympic medal has been awarded. That being said, we all have a little extra pride when it comes to our home state, and we have a feeling some of you were pretty excited when our friends at Southern Proper and State Traditions teamed up for a run of State Bowties.
