Just because we’re raising a few of our inseams this Summer, it doesn’t mean we are quite ready to raise them all. In fact, we’ve been on the hunt for something a bit longer that can take a more abuse than a standard pair of chino shorts without looking too utilitarian, and it looks like L.L. Bean Signature has us covered with a recent addition to their collection. Their Washed Canvas Cloth Shorts are just what we’ve been looking for.
With the sun staying high in the sky longer and longer every day, we’re once again on the hunt for some new sunglasses. At this point, it looks like we’re going to have to start a one in one out policy with our current rotation, and a new addition to the Warby Parker lineup has us sizing up a few pairs that may not make the cut for much longer. Take a look at the Haskell.
While many of the larger boatshoe manufacturers are once again offering made in the USA options, there are a few small outfits who have never offered anything but. One of our favorites is Rancourt & Company, and last week they took the wraps off of the newest addition to their collection; the Read Two-Tone Boatshoe.
Horizontal stripes get a bad wrap. Many say they aren’t flattering, but, in our opinion, as long as what you’re wearing fits how it should, you shouldn’t have any problems at all pulling off the look. For our next foray into the world of horizontal stripes we’re going big with the Montauk Madras Shirts by Bonobos.
In the past we’ve featured the “official” Kentucky Derby mint julep recipe on race day. This year, we’re changing things up a bit as we’ve become quite fond of Basil Hayden’s over the last year or so. Our recipe is nothing fancy, but it’s our go to. Of course, if you have a proper julep cup, now’s the time to break it out.
Last night we got a note from a friends at Bull+Moose letting us know that their Summer bows were officially in, and would be hitting their site ASAP. Well, they’re up, and there are certainly some great looking ties in the collection. Our pick this week is their Blue Chambray Bow.
Yesterday the gentlemen at Mizzen+Main unveiled the latest version of their website. The overall experience is simply fantastic, and the best part of all is that a number of new shirts also went live at the same time. We were most excited to see that their collection of oxfords has three new colors to choose from.
“Beach season’s coming!” We hear that phrase daily when we walk into the gym, and not only does it keep us just a bit more focused, it also reminds us that we are that much closer to a week or two away from the office with nothing more on the schedule than relaxing on the beach day in and day out. This year, we’ll definitely be packing a pair of Dockside Swim Trunks from Southern Marsh when we head toward the coast.
A great belt can put a new spin on just about any look. Now that our leather options will be virtually non-existent for a few months we’re stocking up on some conversation starters, and our friends at Country Club Prep have some fantastic choices. Of course, our favorite is their “How Do You Tie Bow Ties” belt.
A few weeks back, our pick of the day was a gingham seersucker shirt from the Brooks Brothers Red Fleece collection. We were shocked at how many people reached out asking for additional seersucker shirt options, and we’re more than happy to oblige. Once again, we’re turning to Brooks Brothers for our selection, and this one is part of the main lineup It’s their Seersucker Candy Stripe Sport Shirt.
