It shouldn’t come as any surprise that we are constantly on the lookout for new bowties. Not only to review for the site, but to add to our personal collections. It doesn’t matter if a bowtie features a printed design, a pattern, stripes, or simply a solid color, if it is good looking, we want it. A few months back, one of our favorite brands, Southern Proper, released a collection of bows that are basic, yet definitely eye catching. At one point or another in your life, you have probably heard the phrase “they don’t make things like they used to” and rolled your eyes. Well, when it comes to clothing, many times that really is the case. If your Cinco De Mayo celebration ended on Seis De Mayo, there is a good chance you weren’t too happy to see the bright rays of the sun this morning. The Kentucky Derby is fast approaching, and if you are planning on sipping mint juleps and watching the horses run in person, or with a group of friends elsewhere, you are going to have to dress appropriately. We love polos, short sleeve or long sleeve, bright or muted, it doesn’t matter, a crisp polo is never going to be a bad look. That being said, we haven’t really talked much about one kind of polo that we really like, the women’s polo. No, not for us, but for any girl reading this site. It should come as no surprise that one of our favorite women’s polos comes from a brand that makes one of our favorite men’s polos, Southern Tide. Lately, we have been seeing more and more short sleeve button down shirts. When done right, they can be a great choice, unfortunately, many times they just aren’t that flattering. While there are definitely options out there that will look awesome, we tend to keep things simple and just roll up the sleeves of our favorite long sleeve button downs during the warm months. One option that we love for this summer is the Men’s Madras Long Sleeve ($98) by Cape Madras.
When it comes to weekends, we normally end up in shorts and polos. This past weekend was no different, except this time we got to check out a pair of shorts from an up and coming brand based outside of Atlanta, Jack Donnelly. We’ve been on the hunt for a solid pair of khaki shorts for quite some time and it seems like our search is finally over with their Dalton Short ($68).
