The Kentucky Derby is fast approaching, and if you are planning on sipping mint juleps and watching the horses run in person, or with a group of friends elsewhere, you are going to have to dress appropriately.  Of course, there will be countless seersucker suits of all colors, and more blue blazers than your local Brooks Brothers normally has in stock.  While there is nothing wrong with seersucker suits and blue blazers, nobody wants to look just like the rest of the crowd.  One way to kick things up a bit without going too overboard is a pocket square, some of our favorites are the Cotton Pocket Squares ($25) by J.McLaughlin.

With four options available J. McLaughlin has created a collection of squares that are versatile enough that they can be worn casually, or to more formal occasions, without thinking twice.  That being said, since they are cotton, we recommend retiring these squares once the weather turns cold.  Each square is 14″ x”14″ and looks just about perfect whether you prefer the folded look, or you prefer things a bit more freestyle.  However you prefer to wear the pocket square, as long as you do it with some confidence you will be good to go.
