As much as we appreciate the Barbour classics (we’ll never give up our Bedale), we’ve found ourselves fawning over some of the newer offerings that have come to market as of late.  One of our favorite new additions to the Barbour collection is actually a collaboration with Jack Spade.  If we decide to make a major jacket purchase this year, it’s going to be the Hopper.

Inspired by the classics, the Hopper definitely looks like an old school Barbour jacket from a distance, but as you get up close you’ll start to see some touches that are decidedly modern.  Made from a “distinctive hybrid of waxed canvas and Cordura nylon reinforcements,” this jacket features the corduroy Barbour collar that we all know and love as well as a pair of flap pockets out front to stow your gear.  When you open the jacket, you’ll find a removable quilted vest in a hue of orange that compliments the navy exterior of the Hopper perfectly.  Finished off with red, white, and blue vent hardware, there is literally nothing we don’t like about this collaboration piece.  Looks like we need to start saving our pennies.
