In the matter of a couple of hours, Fall arrived here in Annapolis yesterday. We went from sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 80’s to grey skies and low 60’s before we knew what was happening. With no choice but to finally embrace the chill, we’re going full bore with breaking out the Fall wardrobe this week, and along with the clothes it’s time to break out the Fall footwear as well. We’ve already talked about one pair of boots that will be added to the rotation this year, and today we’re featuring another; the Gold Cup Bellingham Chukka by Sperry Top-Sider.
This Fall we’re finally adding something to our wardrobe that is a staple piece for many this time of year, a henley. It’s not that we’ve intentionally avoided them for all these years, but there’s just never been one that we had to have. That all changed when we saw the Mohegan Henley from our friends at Mizzen + Main.
Every Fall we look forward to one of the few events that turns golf from an individual sport to a team effort. This year, the event is the President’s Cup, and it looks like things at Muirfield are going to be neck and neck all weekend long. To show our support for Team USA, we’re breaking out a couple of Classic Stripe Players Shirts from Criquet.
Three decades ago, Martin Dingman launched a company. No, it wasn’t the one that makes the fantastic leather goods his name has become synonymous with, it was a tie company called Rainbow Neckwear. Well, thirty years later Dingman, decided it was time to get back to his roots, and he set out to once again put his touch on the neckwear industry. The result is a fantastic lineup of ties that were recently released as part of the Martin Dingman Countrywear Collection. Today we’re happy to announce that one lucky reader is going to win their choice of a Martin Dingman bowtie!
Earlier this year we featured a new addition to the Jack Donnelly lineup called the Carters. At that point, they were set to be a limited run that would only be a part of the collection for a limited time. Apparently, we weren’t the only people that loved them, because the Carters are back this Fall in four new colors.
As we slowly, and begrudgingly, begin to transition our boatshoes out of heavy rotation for the season, classic penny loafers seem to be taking their place more times than not. We’ve been on the hunt for a new pair that can pull double duty at the office and out on the town, and it looks like we may have just gotten lucky. Turns out the Beaumont Penny Loafer by Sid Mashburn was recently restocked.
Now that we’re five weeks into the college football season, things are really starting to take shape. Whether your team is riding high, or trying to recover from an unexpected loss or two, there’s still plenty of time to go, and plenty of tailgates to attend. Of course, a great looking sport shirt is never out of place on a Fall Saturday, and you’ll never go wrong with one of the recently released Goal Line Shirts from Southern Proper.
