As much as we would like to claim that boatshoes are the epitome of the All-American shoe, we know full well that a classic penny loafer holds that crown. We are firm believers that a classic pair of loafers will never be out of style, and that every man should have at least one pair ready to go at all times. Our go to loafers are starting to look a bit worn these days, and we will soon be upgrading to a pair of Pierson loafers from Martin Dingman.

After more than a decade of losing, it’s a pretty good time to be an Orioles fan here in Annapolis. Things were pretty rough for the last 14 years or so, but with a playoff run last year, and four all-stars this year, we’re enjoying every minute of our favorite team’s good fortune as of late. Even though temperatures have been downright sweltering lately, the search for our next great blazer never stops here at Bowties & Boatshoes. Sure it might hang in the closet for a few weeks (or longer) before it sees the light of day, but if you see a blazer that you love, pick it up. In our younger years, we were known to pick up a t-shirt at just about every stop we made. We could never have too many, and each one was a story of it’s own. Now that we wear collars 90% of the time, we’re far more picky when it comes to picking up a new tee. One that we will definitely be adding to the rotation is the recently released “Stay True To Your Colors” Tee from Over Under Clothing.

We can say with absolute certainty that classic solid OCBD’s will always be a staple in our wardrobes. That being said, we are always open to innovation, and to find something that looks like an OCBD, yet utilizes modern technology to take the way it performs to a whole new level, is definitely something we are pretty excited about. On Sunday, Mizzen + Main introduced their version of an OCBD to the world, it’s called The Kingscote.

This Summer, our go to watch has been a simple Timex Weekender on a variety of different ribbon straps. Well, that is all about to change thanks to the guys at form•function•form. As soon as we laid eyes on their Button-Stud Sport setup, we knew we had to have it.
