Even though temperatures have been downright sweltering lately, the search for our next great blazer never stops here at Bowties & Boatshoes.  Sure it might hang in the closet for a few weeks (or longer) before it sees the light of day, but if you see a blazer that you love, pick it up.  You can never have too many, and having a few great options to choose from is never a bad thing.  Our next is going to be the Vintage Athletic Blazer from Brooks Brothers.

It seems that many have been working blazers into more casual looks over the last few seasons, and it is a trend that we hope continues for quite some time.  Featuring patch pockets (two at the waist and one on the chest), quilted elbow patches, and dark brass buttons, this cotton pique blazer is a fantastic casual addition to any wardrobe.  Though the Vintage Athletic Blazer won’t work with dressier ensembles, it is the perfect way to dress up anything from jeans and a polo to go to hell pants and a sport shirt this Summer.  As Fall begins to creep in, we see this one becoming a perfect final layer for a variety of looks.  Though it may not see heavy use in the very near future, we have a feeling this blazer is one that will be a key piece in many wardrobes in coming months.
