It’s no secret that we are constantly on the hunt for things that have a classic appeal with a bit of a twist.  Well, we found just that when we were perusing the Allen Edmonds website recently. Part of their ongoing Webgems series, we are absolutely loving the recently released Suede Sands Penny Loafers.

If you aren’t familiar with the Allen Edmonds Webgems series, you are really missing out.  On an extremely limited basis, they offer shoes that are normally only available as customs, without the custom pricing.  Available in navy, tan, and olive, each pair of Suede Sands features a traditional beefroll penny loafer upper (with some added detail on the tongue) paired with a brick red Vibram sole that you’d normally find on a pair of bucks.  The overall look is one that works extremely well across all colors, and has left us, once again, trying to figure out which of the three is our favorite.  For now we’re leaning towards navy simply so we can finally have a pair of blue suede shoes in the rotation.
