Everyone says that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.  If that is truly the case, J.Press should be one of the most flattered brands around.  A staple in every prep wardrobe for over a century, many items that originally came from J.Press have been imitated by brands young and old.  Though the brand hasn’t been quite as visible in recent years, we’re hearing that J.Press has some big things planned for 2013.  We’re looking forward to see what they’ll be bringing to market, but in the mean time we’ll check in on one of our favorite pieces in their line, the Shaggy Dog Sweater.

Often imitated, yet never perfectly duplicated, the J. Press Shaggy Dog sweater is currently available in 18 solid colors, as well as two argyle prints, and a couple of fair isles to round out the collection.  Made from Shetland wool, the Shaggy Dogs are heavily brushed for a texture that is all their own.  Though you can never go wrong with a basic grey or navy, we like the idea of  Shaggy Dog that is a bit more eye catching like the Kelly Green pictured above.  Extremely warm, and great looking over just about anything, these sweaters get better with age and will remain in your wardrobe for decades to come.
