The Sock Post: 2012 Edition

On December 5, 2012, in Accessories, by Ryan & Ben

Thanks to some unseasonably warm weather over the last couple of days, we’ve had the chance to break out our trusty boatshoes one last time before retiring them for the year.  That being said, with winter about to rear it’s ugly head, it’s probably time for us to revamp our sock rotation.  Luckily, there are plenty of great options out there for us to choose from this season.  Below you’ll find some of our favorites.

Our one piece of advice with socks is simple; have a little fun.  Sure there are times when you have to stick with muted solids, but, for the most part, adding a splash of color to your feet will never be a bad idea.

1. Mid-Calf Socks by Hook + Albert: Whether you need patterns, solids, or just something that’s a little bit different than the rest of your collection, Hook + Albert has you covered.  Made from fine Peruvian cotton, you really can’t go wrong.

2. Camp Socks by J. Crew: We wear these with every casual shoe in our collection this time of year.  Thicker than dress socks, but not so thick that they’ll make your shoes uncomfortable, the camp socks look great with everything from camp mocs to duck boots.

3. Boarding Stripe Socks by The Tie Bar:  We’re suckers for repp stripes.  Needless to say, as soon as we saw these we knew we had to have them.

4. Alastair Socks by Ledbury: It’s great to see our friends down in Richmond expanding their line, and these socks are even more luxurious than their shirts.  Made from an 85/15 cashmere/nylon blend, the Alastair socks are an accessory that’ll have you walking a bit taller each time you pull them on.

5. 19th Hole Collection by Kentwool: Hands down, Kentwool makes the finest golf socks we’ve ever tried on.  Their 19th hole collection features solids, argyles, and stripes, and will keep your feet feeling just as great off the course as they do on.
