It’s been a little over a year since we featured the hat collection from State Traditions, and to say their line has grown since then would be a huge understatement.  Now available for 49 states (sorry Maine), the US as a whole, and a few places abroad, there is now a hat in the State Traditions line for just about anyone.  The feature below originally ran on September 15, 2011.

State pride is a funny thing, you either have it or you don’t.  For example, if you have ever seen Wedding Crashers, you likely remember the line “Crabcakes and football, that’s what Maryland does!”  While we are proud of both our crabcakes and our football (yes, we like all of the UMD uniforms), we would hope that the rest of the country knows that there is a lot more to our great state than that.  Some call it being a homer, we just call it state pride.  If you are looking to show your state pride, we highly suggest taking a look at the selection of hats ($25) currently offered from our friends at State Traditions.

State Traditions hats can be divided into two categories, traditional and gameday. Traditional hats feature an outline of a state filled with it’s respective flag.  Gameday hats, our favorite, feature a state silhouette and colorways that represent some of the more popular schools of that state. These relaxed fit hats have a broken in feel that we all strive for, and only get better with age.  As of now, State Traditions offers hats for 14 states.  If your state or favorite school isn’t represented yet, give it a little time.  We are hearing that there are some major expansion plans in the works.
