The more we read, the more we realize we need to get up to Maine for a visit.  Not only is the scenery absolutely gorgeous, but it seems like every single handmade boatshoe we see is made there.  Yes, handmade in the USA normally means a few extra bucks, but in our opinion it is absolutely worth it.  Apparently, Sperry Top-Sider thinks that a number of people share our sentiments, because they are now offering a Made in Maine version of their famous A/O Boatshoe ($300).

Crafted from US sourced leather, the Made in Maine A/O’s feature the silhouette we have all come to know and love when we think of classic top-siders.  Available in mahogany, tan, and chalk leather, the Made in Maine A/O’s feature the same wave-siped soles as the standard issue A/O’s and are just as suited for a day on the water as they are a day around town thanks to the shock absorbing heel cup.  Wherever you wear them, you can never go wrong with a pair of Made in Maine A/O’s.
