As bowtie lovers, we are big fans of the fact that new bowtie companies are popping up across the country.  Not only does this resurgence in the market give us a number of things to write about for Bows & Boats, it gives us a number of new ties to add to our collections.  As much as we love the newcomers to the market, we have the utmost respect for those who have been turning out ties for decades like Mountain & Sackett who have been making bows in New York City since 1957.  Their Collister Striped Bowties ($45) are a must have for any Spring/Summer wardrobe.

Yes, we realize that it is a bit too early to be posting about ties that are probably best suited for warmer weather, but we knew we had to spread the word about these bows as soon as we saw them.  Made of a silk/linen blend for a texture that is a bit different than any of the other ties in our lineup, the Collister certainly fills a void that we didn’t even know existed.  Available in red, blue, and teal variations, each tie has a “white warp” that softens up the colors a bit for a washed look of sorts.  Though the prime season for wearing these bows is probably more than a month away, we;ll be placing our order for one (or two, or three) very soon.
