Though Fall is certainly a time to show some love for your favorite sports teams, trying to look stylish while wearing a jersey of any sort is a challenge to say the least.  One piece of sportswear that is an exception to this rule is a well made rugby shirt.  Rugby shirts are also the only exception to wearing a replica jersey (so to speak) for a team that doesn’t really exist.  While there are a ton of viable options on the market, our pick for this season is the Highgate Rugby ($115) by Vineyard Vines.

We’re not sure if Shep and Ian ever played rugby, but they sure did get things right with this shirt.  Available in two color options (Collegiate Red and Humpback), the Highgate Rugby keeps things simple with a traditional striped pattern and white collar.  While some companies tend to get a little overzealous with their patches, Vineyard Vines decided to keep things low key with a small crest on the chest, and a whale patch and number on the back.  This shirt would fit in just fine in a scrum (as long as your whole team doesn’t mind wearing the same number), but it is also a fantastic casual option for anything that may be on your calendar this Fall.
