Dhani Jones is one of those people that everyone would like to spend a day with.  The guy is a stud athlete, TV personality, world traveler, and all around great guy by all accounts.  While all of these qualities are pretty cool, we think the best thing about Dhani is his mission to help out charities in the form of bowties.  Jones started wearing bowties when he got a great piece of advice from a friend of his, Kunta Littlejohn, who told him “If you want to be anybody, you gotta rock a bowtie.”  Though he wasn’t huge on the idea at first, Dhani decided to wear a bow to support Kunta,  who was battling Lymphoma at the time.  When he was invited to a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation event a few years later, Dhani realized that he could help spread the word by designing a bowtie specifically for the cause.  This bow was the launch of a fantastic organization known as the BowTie Cause.

With a number of ties currently available, and a plenty of new ones in the pipeline (we hear the upcoming 9/11 tribute bow is awesome), it is impossible for us to pick a favorite in the BowTie Cause line.  Every tie tells a story, and also raises money for a specific charity.  Each of the 100% silk ties retails for $57 (Dhani’s jersey number) with the vast majority of the proceeds going to charity.  While the money that is raised is nice, the best part about these bows is that they help raise awareness.  We all know that bowties are conversation starters, and what better topic than a charity or cause that you support.  From large organizations like LIVESTRONG (as seen on Dhani above) to lesser known charities like The Pablove Foundation, BowTie Cause is truly making a difference.  To make sure you are up to date on the latest BowTie Cause news, make sure to follow @BowTieCause, @BowTieCEO, and @DhaniJones on Twitter.
