We love the classics, from a simple pair of khakis to a basic blue blazer, there are certain pieces that will always be a staple in the preppy wardrobe.  While the origins of many of these classics may be hard to trace, the origin of one preppy staple, Nantucket Reds, can be traced directly to one place, Murray’s Toggery Shop.  There are a number of imitators out there, but if you want the real deal, you have to go to Murray’s.  The Nantucket Reds line has expanded to include a number of offerings over the years, but our favorite is still the flat front pant ($72.50).

Believe it or not, you can buy Nantucket Reds flat front pants in four colors: khaki, blue, green, and, of course, Nantucket Red.  While you really can’t go wrong with any of the options, it is hard to look past the original.  Made of cotton canvas that will fade with wear (that’s the fun part), the pants feature a traditional fit and a number of sizing options.  One thing we really like is that you can choose to order your Reds unfinished so that you can have your own tailor hem them to the absolute perfect length.  There are very few things that look as good paired with a t-shirt as they do with a blue blazer, these pants are one of those few.
