When it comes to mixing and matching fabrics, finding a successful combination can be tough.  Luckily when you are mixing and matching them to create a unique bowtie, you have a little more room to shake things up a bit.  If you haven’t had the chance to look at the collaboration bowties that Social Primer and Brooks Brothers has released, you are absolutely missing out.  Their mixed and matched reversible bowties have absolutely hit the mark, our favorite is the Patch Madras and BB#1 Repp Stripe ($65).

While we would happily wear a bow made of either fabric that the Patch Madras and BB#1 Repp Stripe bow features, there is something about the combination that we really love.  The cotton of the madras works amazingly well with the silk of the repp stripe, and with a variety of looks coming from one bow, this tie will certainly get some heavy use.  Some may scoff at the idea of sa tie so far from the norm, but the idea of taking such classic looks and pairing them in a new way makes for a great bow in our opinion.  Let’s face it, many of us wear bowties because they aren’t the norm.  Why should the bows we wear be any different?
