It is no secret that we are excited to finally break out some of our favorite lightweight fabrics and bold colors this month. While our love of seersucker and madras has already been well documented, another fabric that we are eager to work back into the fold is chambray. This lightweight cotton that was once known as the go to fabric for work shirts has made quite a resurgence in the fashion world over the past few years, and once piece that we really like is the Chambray Long Sleeve ($145) by J. Press.
Though the J. Press website lists these shirts as “Made in England”, we are happy to report that they are actually made in New England, Massachusetts to be exact. As with most chambray shirts, this one is lightweight, and the white weft leaves it with a look similar to that of well worn denim. Available in classic blue as well as a bold red, you are going to have trouble choosing which color to go with. The blue looks fantastic with nearly everything, and the red is the perfect compliment to jeans or your favorite pair of chinos. One tip when it comes to chambray, wear it a little wrinkled, it looks far better that way. While we normally prefer things crisp and pressed, this is definitely one exception to the rule.
