This weekend we’re finally taking part in a Warrior Dash.  If things go according to plan, it’ll be the first step towards another adventure we’ve had our eyes on, the GORUCK challenge.  Until we feel like we’re ready to take that plunge, we’ll just keep enjoying the GR1 from GORUCK.  Ours hasn’t gotten quite as dirty as the one pictured, but we’ve definitely put it through the paces and it’s never let us down.  The feature below originally ran on August 1, 2012.

Way back when, if you got an L.L. Bean book bag with your initials on it, you better have picked a color you liked, because those things lasted forever!   Though we wouldn’t recommend breaking out the same bag that got you through middle school when the need arises today, we definitely think having a solid pack on hand is a must.  Recently, a friend turned us on to a brand that seems to be picking up a ton of steam lately called GORUCK.  Their GR1 Rucksack will stand up to anything you can throw at it, and then some.

Founded by a former member of the US Special Forces (thanks for your service, Jason!), it should come as no surprise that the GR1 is not only built to last, but also extremely functional.  Made in the US, by US workers, out of US sourced products, the quality of the GR1 is absolutely top notch, and the attention to detail is superb.  Using feedback from friends on both the military and civilian side of things, the GR1 is the epitome of form and function whether you are deployed, or simply catching a train across town, and has plenty of space for just about anything you might need.  Available in black, and, just recently, sand and multicam, the GR1 is literally built to last a lifetime.
