Though they’re still a relative newcomer to the world of bowties, our friends at Bull + Moose continue to impress us with their wares. Their designs are classic, yet each of their ties is unique and different than just about anything in our collection. Today’s Bowtie Friday pick is their Olive Seersucker bow.
A couple of years back, we stumbled across the Rancourt & Co. Pinch Penny Loafers, and virtually immediately we realized there was a gap in our footwear collection that we never knew existed. At first glance, we were enamored with the Color 8 Chromexcel version that sported a honey colored sole. It’s still one of our favorites in their collection, but lately we’ve had our eye on the Natural option.
A few months back, we were introduced to Blankenship Dry Goods, and their great looking Freedom shorts. Back then, we keyed in on their fantastic seersucker collection. Today, we’re going back to Blankenship for another pair of Freedom shorts, a pair they’ve named after our hometown, Annapolis.
Over the years, we’ve amassed a handful of red pants that see a surprising amount of wear. From washed out Nantucket Reds, to a pair of Bonobos Cherry Bombs, we’re proud to wear red in all hues, and soon another pair will be added to our collection. Just yesterday, our friends at Jack Donnelly released a limited run of their Carter in Red.
When it comes to well curated collections, you’d be hard pressed to find a better site than Huckberry. Our friends out West frequently feature brands we love, and even more frequently introduce us to those that we need to learn more about. Today we’re excited to announce that one lucky Bowties & Boatshoes reader is going to win a $100 in Huckberry cash. To find out how to win, and what we would buy if we had $100 to spend, keep reading. Continue reading »
We’re pretty picky when it comes to t-shirts. For the most part, other than a handful of favorites that have been carefully curated over the years, we like to stick with solids. Recently, we came across what may just be the perfect solid t-shirt. It’s the American Giant midweight pocket tee.
Our love for all things gingham and seersucker has been pretty well documented over the years, and when we find them combined correctly, it’s pretty much a guarantee that the piece will find it’s way into our collection. That’s certainly the case with today’s Bowtie Friday pick, the Gingham Seersucker Bow from J. Crew. Proudly made in the USA, this 100% cotton bow features an Estate Blue gingham print on a bright white base. Finished off with a diamond tip, this is one of those ties that you’ll find yourself going to again and again all Summer long.
Gents, if you’ve had your eye on anything from Oak Street Bootmakers, now is the time to pull the trigger. We been singing the praises of Oak Street since the early days of Bowties & Boatshoes, and our feelings haven’t changed. In fact, we love them more now than ever, and their products remain constant in our rotation. Rarely, if ever, do Oak Street shoes go on sale, but, until Sunday, the entire collection is 10% off. You really can’t go wrong with any of their offerings, but if we were forced to choose a favorite it would be a toss up between the Beefroll Loafers and their classic Boatshoes.
One of our favorite things about Sid Mashburn is the balance of products in the store. Whether you’re looking for a new pair of Levis, or a made to measure suit, they’ll get you taken care of and have you looking great in no time flat. This balance also comes into play with a number of Mashburn’s house branded products. Many can be easily dressed up or down, and their Canvas Mashburn Shorts certainly fit that bill.
As of yesterday Duck Head is officially back. They made a brief re-emergence a couple of years ago, and now it looks like they’re back for good. With a collection that includes modern versions of some of our favorite pieces from way back, as well as some new items that we can’t wait to get our hands on, we have a feeling that things for Duck Head are going to be a little bit different this time around.
