Henning Field Shirt by Southern Proper

On October 8, 2012, in Shirts, by Ryan & Ben

Image: Southern Proper

It’s no secret that we are big fans of Southern Proper, and we couldn’t be happier to see their line expanding.  Beyond the addition of some fantastic new beaus, Frat Hats, and Sweet Tees this season (reviews on all of the above coming soon), the SP team has recently rolled out some pieces that are unlike any they have ever brought to market.  One of those pieces is their Henning Field Shirt.

Full Zip Hooded Sweatshirt by American Giant

On October 6, 2012, in Classics, by Ryan & Ben

Image: American Giant

Every guy we know loves a good hoody.  Some prefer a pullover, others prefer a zip up, but, regardless of the style, literally everyone we know has that one hooded sweatshirt that shows up every Fall without question.  This year, we’ll be introducing a new hooded sweatshirt to our rotation.  It’s tough to think that our old favorites are being replaced, but as soon as we saw the Full Zip Hooded Sweatshirt from American Giant, we knew change was imminent.

Pulpit Supply Grant Bow by The Cordial Churchman

On October 5, 2012, in Bowties, by Ryan & Ben

Image: Pulpit Supply

To say The Cordial Churchman has seen tremendous growth in the last couple of years would be a gross understatement.  In fact, a couple months back they took the wraps off of the newest branch of their growing business, it’s called Pulpit Supply.  Described as a “top-shelf collection from the haberdashers behind The Cordial Churchman,” we can’t wait to see where our friends down in South Carolina will go with their latest endeavor.  With bowties like the Grant, we have a feeling the newest branch of the TCC empire is going to be just as successful as the mothership.

From the Archives: Worton Weekender by Blue Claw Co.

On October 4, 2012, in Bags, by Ryan & Ben

It’s been nearly a year since we profiled the Worton Weekender from our friends at Blue Claw Co.  In the time since our original post, our Weekender has become something of a ‘go to’ bag each time we hit the road.  Perfect for a weekend away, or far longer depending on your packing skills, it should come as no surprise that the flagship product of Blue Claw Co. is still their number one seller.  The post below originally ran on September 17, 2011.

Otto Wax Canvas by Tretorn

On October 3, 2012, in Shoes, by Ryan & Ben

Images: Tretorn

A few weeks back, after sending out a Tweet about a Tretorn tent sale in SoHo, we got an email from their PR group.  Truth be told, we’d heard a lot about Tretorn over the past year or so, and a number of our friends had raved to us about them, but neither of us had a pair of our own.  That changed pretty quickly.  Tretorn was nice enough to send us a couple of pairs of their Otto Wax Canvas shoes to put through the paces, and we couldn’t be more pleased.

Navy Cameron Check Shirt by Ledbury

On October 2, 2012, in Shirts, by Ryan & Ben

Image: Ledbury

There’s something to be said about a shirt that looks just as great under a blazer as it does with a pair of jeans.  Though finding one that makes this transition seamlessly is a bit harder than it seems, once you do, you’ll have a shirt that will remain in heavy rotation for years to come.  We have a feeling that one of Ledbury‘s latest offerings, the Navy Cameron Check shirt, is going to be one of those shirts for a number of men this Fall.

Image: Southern Tide

As nice as it is to get the heads up on upcoming products from some of our favorite brands, we still love it when we stumble across something we have never seen before when we’re out shopping.  That was exactly what happened on a recent trip to one of our favorite men’s shops, Laurance Clothing, about a week ago.  They had just received a shipment from Southern Tide, and in it was the brand new Highlands Classic Cable Sweater.  We loved the sweater so much that we immediately emailed Southern Tide to find out when it would hit their website so we could do a full feature.  They not only answered our question, they also said we should give one away!
