A few weeks back, after sending out a Tweet about a Tretorn tent sale in SoHo, we got an email from their PR group.  Truth be told, we’d heard a lot about Tretorn over the past year or so, and a number of our friends had raved to us about them, but neither of us had a pair of our own.  That changed pretty quickly.  Tretorn was nice enough to send us a couple of pairs of their Otto Wax Canvas shoes to put through the paces, and we couldn’t be more pleased.

The first thing we noticed when we put on the Ottos was how comfortable they are.  Tretorn builds “Swedish Massage Teknology” into their insoles, and while we were a bit skeptical at first, we are now believers.  Currently available in Anthracite, Duffel Bag (dark green), and Java, the Wax Canvas Ottos have an upper that’ll have you thinking “boatshoe” at first glance, but a sole that looks more like something you’d find on a sneaker.  The result is a casual shoe that we’ve paired with just about every casual look we’ve worn since they arrived.  Though the Wax Canvas version is definitely our pick for Fall and Winter, we have a feeling we’ll be picking up a few more pairs of Ottos once things start warming up next year, they’re just that comfortable.
