Without question, our favorite winter coat is a classic peacoat.  It’ll literally never go out of style, it looks great with everything, and it’ll keep you as warm or warmer than any technical jacket out there.  If you’re ready to pull the trigger on a peacoat that will last a lifetime, we’d highly recommend checking out the Billy Reid Bond Peacoat.

This Fall we were pleased to see one of our favorite Southern Proper designs return to their lineup.  It’s one that will never be out of style, and will always have a place in our wardrobe.  No, we’re not talking about a bowtie, we’re actually talking about a t-shirt.  In this case, it’s their take on a ‘How to Tie a Bowtie’ tee, they call it Beau Basics.  Our Bowtie Friday pick this week is the long sleeve version in Navy.  If you want to make sure you have one in your collection, we’d suggest visiting our friends at Country Club Prep ASAP.  This one’ll go quick.

For the past few days, we’ve found ourselves constantly looking at our watches and trying to wrap our heads around the fact that it’s basically going to be dark before we leave the office every night for the foreseeable future.  All that watch checking has also sparked the thought that a new timepiece might be a good way to shake off the time change blues.  Looks like it might finally be time to pull the trigger on a Button-Stud Chronograph from our friends at form•function•form.

Along with the Halloween decorations, we finally retired our boatshoes for the season yesterday.  As always, it was a tough decision, but one that had to be made.  There’s just no reason to be wearing boatshoes in November unless you’re on an island somewhere.  This year, the pain of the event was eased a bit thanks to a new pair of shoes we stumbled upon during a recent visit to J. Crew.  They’ve teamed up with Sperry for a pair of Chukkas that we absolutely love.

Every year we seem to go back and forth on if we’re going to be on board with vests or not.  This year seems to be a vest year.  There have been a number to catch our eye over the last few weeks, but the one we keep going back to comes from one of our favorite classic outfitters, Filson.  Their Down Cruiser Vest is simply fantastic.

Tan Flannel Herringbone Suit by Indochino

Though we tend to lean towards the classics when we suit up, there are times that call for something a bit less traditional.  Maybe for a special event, or maybe just for a random day that you feel like going all out, a statement suit is something that should hang in every mans closet.  No, we’re not talking something inspired by Dumb and Dumber, we’re talking about a suit that sets you apart from the crowd, yet still looks sharp as a tack.  For us, the new Tan Flannel Herringbone Suit from Indochino is just that.

No. 8 by Opinel

Though it takes a lot to make a change, we are always on the lookout for something that could find it’s way into our everyday carry collection.  Last week, we found ourselves in need of a pocket knife, and when a buddy loaned us his, we knew right away we’d be picking one up ASAP.  The knife was an Opinel No. 8.  How this classic has remained off our radar until now is a mystery.

America’s Cup Sailboat Bow by Vineyard Vines

On October 16, 2015, in Bowties, by Ryan & Ben

For many, our hometown of Annapolis is the Sailing capital of the word.  So, of course, the town is already buzzing about the 2017 America’s Cup.  Just yesterday, Vineyard Vines announced a partnership that will make them the official style of America’s Cup, so we thought it was only appropriate that their America’s Cup Sailboat Bow be the pick for #BowtieFriday this week.  What do you think, will the Oracle team make it three straight?
