Even though we’ve had a few splurges this year that don’t fit with the plan, we’re still doing our best to purchase items that may cost a bit more than we would like, but are pieces that we know will remain in our collection for years to come. In our shoe rotation, one glaring gap is a nice pair of boots. Hopefully, that gap will soon be filled. With what? We’re thinking the Oak Street Bootmakers Trench Boots fit the bill perfectly.
Designed in Chicago and handcrafted in New York the Oak Street Trench Boots are truly All-American. Made from Horween Chromexcel leather, these boots are built to last, and if you treat them right they will literally be with you for the rest of your days. Should you manage to work your way through the oiled leather Waterlock soles (there is a Vibram sole option too, but we prefer the leather), they are fully recraftable. With a goodyear welt, and those Waterlock soles, the Trench Boots won’t take the place of your favorite Maine Hunting Shoes in a torrential downpour, but they’ll still keep your feet nice and dry should you find yourself caught in a storm. Whether you prefer to keep things low key with the plain toe option (shown) or dress things up with a cap toe, the Oak Street Trench Boots will become a staple piece in just about any wardrobe.
