A few weeks back, the crew from Hugh & Crye reached out to us to see if we might be interested in checking out one of their shirts.  Truth be told, we were a bit embarassed that we hadn’t already.  We’d heard some great things, and with Hugh & Crye headquarters just down the road in DC we really have no excuse for not taking a look sooner.  Regardless, they were nice enough to send out a Santorini Gingham Shirt for us to try.

Hugh & Crye does things a bit differently when it comes to sizing.  Instead of a S-XL system, or a more traditional neck and sleeve combo measurement, they’ve devised a system that is based on body type, and we found the fit to be dead on.  According to the system we fell into the “Average/Slim” category, and when the Santorini arrived we were definitely impressed with how great the fit was right out of the box.  Made from high quality Egyptian cotton poplin, this teal gingham shirt is going to fit quite nicely into our wardrobe.  Featuring a tall spread collar, the shirt dresses up easily, but the color combination also lends itself quite well to more casual looks.  With contrast stitching on the final button, contrasting gussets, and convertible mitered cuffs, Hugh & Crye has added a number of small touches to the Santorini that really set it apart from the competition.  If you’re on the market for a great looking shirt that won’t have to go straight to the tailor before you wear it, we’d highly recommend giving Hugh & Crye a shot.
