Occasionally, you just need one more layer to complete a look.  While we never like to be “over-layered”, sometimes just one more piece is the perfect compliment to an otherwise underwhelming outfit.  A simple option that looks great dressed up or dressed down, is a cardigan .  Over a shirt and tie, or a simple tee shirt, a well fit cardigan adds a whole new dimension to any look.  One of our favorites is the Cashmere Cardigan ($218) by J. Crew.

It should comes as no surprise that this sweater has found it’s way onto J.Crew’s “always list”.  Made of Italian Cashmere (12-gauge in case you were wondering), the cardigan is so soft that you will probably have to make a conscious effort not to smile every time you pull it on.  Though we like the shell buttons, here is a tip, don’t button all of them.  You will end up looking like Mr. Rogers.  With four color choices currently available (Navy, Black, Heather Coal, and Heather Stone), it is hard to pick just one, they all look great.  Whichever way you go, you will have a solid addition to your wardrobe for years to come.
