For the past couple of months we’ve found ourselves far more interested in blucher mocs than ever before. A staple in many shoe rotations for years, we’re not quite sure how these classics have managed to stay out of our collection for so long, but for one reason or another they have. If you are in the same boat, and aren’t quite sure you’re ready to take the plunge on a pair that is handmade in Maine, the pefect way to start is the Jackman Blucher Moc from L.L. Bean Signature.
Featuring a premium oiled nubuck leather upper, the Jackman Blucher Moc is one of those shoes that will remain in your collection for years to come, and only get better with age. Paired with a classic tan camp sole, the deep brown shoe is definitely perfect for this time of year, and the contrast stitching gives it a bit of a boatshoe feel that we are definitely fans of. Though the Jackmans also ship with taslan laces, we’re sticking with the rawhide shown above. Not only do we like the overall look better, we also love that the laces are sourced from Auburn Leather Company who have been making them in the US for over a century. Though it’s only a matter of time until we break our boatshoes out of hibernation, the Jackman Blucher Mocs are definitely a suitable stand in.
