With the Ravens in the Super Bowl we’re definitely a bit more invested this year than we have been in years past.  That being said, regardless of who is playing, there is one constant for each and every Super Bowl party we have, Old Bay Crab Dip.  The post below originally ran on February 4th, 2012.

In our opinion, other than good company, the key ingredient for any successful Super Bowl party is a solid selection of food and drink.  One of our favorite additions to any party menu is a great crab dip, and the recipe we use comes from a staple of Maryland cuisine, Old Bay.  We are far from chefs, but even we can put this one together.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Old Bay
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1 pound lump crab meat

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350° F.
  • Mix 3/4 cup of cheese, mayonnaise, Old Bay, Worcestershire sauce, and ground mustard.
  • Add crab meat to your mixture.
  • Spoon mixture into 1-quart casserole dish.
  • Sprinkle the remaining cheese and a a bit more Old Bay over the top.
  • Bake for about 15 minutes or until the edges start to bubble.
  • Serve with crackers, pita, or sliced french bread.

Go Ravens!
