To say the last few years have been a whirlwind for the guys behind Lumina Clothing would probably be quite the understatement. What started as a quest to find cotton skinny ties has lead to a thriving tie business, a successful Kickstarter campaign, and most recently the launch of a retail store in Raleigh, NC. We met the guys behind the brand last year at a Baltimore pop up, and the success that Lumina has seen couldn’t go to a nicer group. Recently, the Lumina team was kind enough to send up one of the newer additions to their line for us to check out, the Hunter & Navy Check Poplin Shirt.
With an attention to detail that is rarely seen from young companies, Lumina is really setting themselves apart with their shirting collection. With a trim fit, high arm holes, and hits of accent threading at the cuffs, the Hunter & Navy Check Poplin Shirt looks just as great straight from the dryer and paired with jeans as it does pressed with a pair of slacks. Of course, no matter how great a shirt looks, if it doesn’t fit right you are dead in the water. Luckily, Lumina has managed to rewrite the book on traditional S-XL sizing. For those of us who constantly fall between sizes, Lumina has introduce + sizes, i.e. Small+ falls between a traditional Small and Medium. We went with one of the + sizes for our tester, and the fit is absolutely spot on. With a great look, a great fit, and a great price ($84), what’s not to love about the Lumina Hunter & Navy Check Poplin Sport Shirt?
