After months of holding out, and a few too many discussions about them, we were finally able to get our hands on a pair of shoes that are polarizing to say the least. An interesting blend of a wingtip and a running shoe, the Cole Haan LunarGrand ($248 – $278) is definitely a love or hate type of shoe, and after finally trying on a pair,our verdict is in. We love them.

Not long after they released the suede version, Cole Haan upped the ante, and released the LunarGrands with a leather upper.  Both versions are available in colorways that range from somewhat understated to eye popping, so whether you are just looking for a wingtip with running shoe comfort, or you’re looking for something that is unlike anything else in your closet, Cole Haan has you covered.  Our thought process is that if you are going to wear a wingtip/running shoe combo that you may as well go all out and turn some heads.  That’s exactly what will happen with our favorite of the lot, it features an almond leather upper paired with a bright red Lunar sole.  Believe it or not, these shoes are easier to pull off than you think. They can be worn with every thing from chinos, to shorts, to jeans without question.
