On more than one occasion, we have been stopped by someone a few decades our senior to point out the fact that they haven’t seen a bowtie worn by a “young man” in ages.  We take it as a compliment every time, and smile knowing that we are doing our part to bring back the art of dressing up a bit for no better reason than “just because.”  Our friends over at General Knot & Co. are taking the idea of bringing the old days back to a whole new level with some fantastic vintage fabrics lately.  A great example is their Vintage Newport Stripe Bow ($88).

We’ve mentioned before that the gents from General Knot & Co. love finding old fabrics and bringing them back to life in the form of ties or bowties, and they’ve really outdone themselves with this one.  Available in extremely limited quantities, the Vintage Newport Stripe Silk Bow is made from a silk twill that dates back to the early sixties.  With a white base, and some fantastic summer colors, this bow is going to add some great pop to just about any look.
