Though we are quick to check out new collections as soon as they hit the web, we still grin every time we open the mailbox and see a new catalog or two staring back.  Sure, we have probably seen most of the line already, but you really can’t beat the simplicity of a great catalog.  Just yesterday, the latest L.L. Bean Signature catalog arrived, and just like little kids, we sat right down and went through it page by page.  There are a ton of great offerings, but one that really jumped out was the Plaid Sportsman’s Shirt ($65).

Back in the fifties it was not uncommon for hunters to stop by L.L. Bean’s store to pick up a dress shirt on their way back to the city.  In an homage to those shirts, L.L. Bean Signature brings us their Sportsman’s Shirts.  Though we are fans of all five of the Sportsman’s Shirts currently available, the eye popping color combination of the plaid iteration seems like a great fit for this time of year.  Made of 100% cotton, and featuring a trim fit, the shirt has a button flap pocket on the left chest, and a shirttail hem.  Pair it with chinos or jeans, roll the sleeves up, and get outside.  That’s what Mr. Bean would have wanted.
