Recently, courtesy of some help from Twitter, a growing brand based in Vancouver reached out to us and asked if we would be interested in checking out some of their products.  While it certainly isn’t uncommon for us to receive an email like this, it is uncommon when that email includes the offer of a custom suit, tailored just for us.  Having been intrigued by this brand for quite some time, we happily accepted the offer and our experience with Indochino officially began.

At first, the idea of creating a custom suit without going to see a tailor can be a bit daunting, but as soon as we saw the current Indochino suit lineup, we were excited to be taking the plunge.  There are a number of great options, but we decided to keep things simple with the Essential Grey 3 Piece Suit.  Once you decide on a suit, the fun really begins.  From small touches like pick stitching, to pen pockets, to a waist pocket, to much larger decisions like how wide you want the lapels, or how many vents you want, you are truly able to make the suit your own.  Now come the measurements.  You’ll need a tape measure, and if you don’t have one Indochino will send you one.  Measuring takes about ten minutes, and each specific measurement needed has a video to show you exactly how to get the number you are looking for.  From the basics like waist and chest, to measurements we have never taken before (knees and wrists), Indochino goes to great lengths to make sure your garments are going to be tailored perfectly for you.

To round out our order we also picked up The Consultant Navy Blue Gingham Shirt (which will also be custom tailored), a Navy Blue Dot Tie, and Good Groove Tie Clip.  If the products are half as impressive as the experience picking them, Indochino is going to have a couple of new customers for life.  Check back in 3-4 weeks to see how things turned out.
