Prints by Old Try

You never know what you might learn about via Twitter.  Sometimes we are left questioning why we followed a certain link, but, more times than not, we end up thanking someone we follow for the heads up on a great find.  Luckily, it was the latter that occurred about a month ago when we looked into something posted by our friends over at Back Down South called Old Try.  It turns out Old Try is a print shop that does things a bit different than most these days, and their prints ($40) are just fantastic.

A self described Southern Print Shop North of the Mason Dixon, Old Try is owned and operated by the husband and wife team of Micah and Marianna Whitson, a couple of southerners living outside of Boston.  After tornadoes caused massive damage in their home states of Alabama and North Carolina, Micah and Marianna knew they had to do something to send a little love to those effected, and Old Try was born.  Instead of a more modern printing process, every 13 x 20 print that leaves the Old Try shop is hand pressed giving each one a look that is truly unique, and we absolutely love that.  While we are eagerly awaiting a Maryland print (hint, hint), a few Old Try offerings have already made their way to Annapolis (including General Manners No.1 which is shown), and we have a feeling that quite a few more will do the same as their line continues to grow.
