Quilted Tracking Coat by Michael Bastian for Gant

Mixing and matching fabrics and textures is the key to a good look.  But honestly, anyone with a sense of style can make a couple of layers work together.  It takes a true talent to combine contrasting elements into a single fantastic garment, and that is exactly what Michael Bastian has done with his Quilted Tracking Coat for Gant ($445).

Many have tried, but very few, if any, have been able to pair quilted ripstop nylon and corduroy as well as Michael Bastian has with this five pocket coat.  Available only in a head turning cardinal red, the bright nylon of the Quilted Tracking Coat is offset perfectly by a rich brown corduroy.  We are huge fans of the corduroy trim and collar, but our absolute favorite part of the jacket has to be the corduroy elbow patches.  Normally we reserve the use of elbow patches for sport coats and the occasional sweater, but this coat is absolutely an exception to the rule.
