Ralph Waldo Emerson once said “Life is a journey, not a destination.”  Though we sometimes lose sight of this simple mantra, we could not agree more.  Salmon Cove, an up and coming brand out of Chicago, has set out to create a line of clothes that you are comfortable in no matter where your journey might take you.  Recently, we picked up their Monterey Button Down ($88), and if it is any indication of what their future holds, Salmon Cove’s journey is going to be quite the successful one.

Many brands make a basic checked sport shirt, but the Monterey is certainly a cut above.  With a fit that feels about as close to tailored as you will ever find with S-XXL sizing, the 100% woven cotton shirt is trim through the body, but not to a point of being too tight.  The double button barrel cuffs are a nice change of pace, and the embroidered salmon logo contrasts nicely with the light blue check.  For a casual look in the office, or a bit of an upgrade from your basic weekend wear, the Monterey Button Down from Salmon Cove is a great option.
