Our undying love for boatshoes has been quite well noted over the past few months. From entry level models, to the higher end, there are very few pairs out there that we wouldn’t consider for our rotation. Of course, we prefer shoes that will last more than one season if at all possible, so we find ourselves gravitating to some of the higher end models. One pair that is sure to last for years is the Eastport ($175) by Allen Edmonds.
Though we haven’t been able to confirm it, we would like to think that the Eastport is named after the small part of Annapolis just across the bridge from the Yacht Club. Whether that is the case or not, this shoe certainly fits in in our hometown. Made of high quality calf skin, the Eastport is available in tan and brown. We like both, but if we were forced to choose, we would probably lean towards the brown (shown). With waved siped soles that will keep you steady in the roughest of seas, these fully lined boatshoes feature a foam insole for optimum comfort. Another thing we really like about the Eastport is that they are recraftable. That way, if you happen to wear them out, you can send them in to Allen Edmonds for a bit of a refresh (additional fees apply). That being said, these are truly a pair of boatshoes that you could have for a lifetime.
