Tomorrow marks a first for both Bows & Boats founders. It will be the first time that each of us celebrates Father’s day as a father. While it still seems a bit surreal to think that we are not only going to be celebrating with our Dads, but also being celebrated, we are definitely looking forward to the occasion. Now that we have seen first hand what it takes to be a parent, it makes us appreciate our Dads even more. If you haven’t picked up a gift for your Dad yet, take a look at the list below for a few things that won’t leave him disappointed.
Event tickets: Is there an event that you have vivid memories of attending with your Dad? If so, pick up tickets to something similar and repay him by making some new memories. Let’s face it, you are never too old for a little father/son (or daughter) time.
Capital Tie by Ellen Allen Annapolis: Is anyone not guilty of giving their Dad a terrible tie for Father’s day at one point or another? Make it up with one that he will wear for years to come. With a classic design inspired by the Annapolis capital dome, the 100% silk Capital Tie is available in three colors and will certainly atone for some of the ridiculous ties of years past.
His favorite adult beverage: Fatherhood is tough, and sometimes the only thing that is going to take the edge off is a good stiff drink. Whether you pick up a 6 pack of his favorite beer, a nice bottle of wine, or a bottle of his favorite bourbon, pair it with a note that says something along the lines of “Bet you could have used this when I was a teenager”, and you can’t lose.
Lowes Gift Cards: If your Dads are anything like ours, they are always working on some sort of project. Tell him to pick one that he has been meaning to get around to but hasn’t for one reason or another and that you will foot the bill. If you want to go the extra mile, tell him you will also be there to help put in the work once the project gets underway.
Personalized Golf Balls: For about $5/dozen more than standard golf balls, you can give your Dad something that is truly just for him. While there are tons of different options available, we definitely prefer the classic simplicity of a block monogram.
