We’ve featured a couple of men’s items from J. Mclaughlin in the past, but, recently, they gave us the opportunity get hands on with some pieces from their Women’s Spring line that will be hitting your local retailer soon. One piece that really stood out was their Malibu Sweetheart Scallop Dress ($225). While the standard “little black dress” is a great “go to” for events all year round, we tend to like lighter colors when events and weather will allow. So, if you are on the market for a new dress for the upcoming seasons, the Malibu Sweetheart from J. McLaughlin should absolutely be on short list of options.
Made of cotton, with just a hint of stretch for extra comfort, the Malibu Sweetheart falls right at the knee, so it is appropriate for a number of different events while still allowing you to stay cool on the hottest of days. The strapless bodice of the dress features insert boning to give it some structure, before the dress flows out a bit from just above the waist. With a classic blue print on a white base, the dress adds a nice pop of color without being too bright for more conservative events.
