Even though temperatures are rising slightly, we’re still clinging to the layering approach here in Annapolis.  As long as the wind still stings, we’re going to pile on layers and cross our fingers that we put on enough of them each time we walk out the door.  Today’s pick is a great midlayer on really cold days, and a great final layer when things warm up just a bit.  It’s the Fisherman Shaker Sweater by Lands’ End.

If Lands’ End was still pushing their Canvas collection, we have a feeling this sweater would have probably fallen under that umbrella thanks to it’s trimmer than normal fit and a bit of a modern take on a classic Fisherman Sweater.   Made from 100% lambswool in a color Lands’ End calls Ivory Marl, this Fisherman sweater features a classic large ribbed neck, and not so classic waxed canvas panels at the shoulders and elbows.  Those panels may not be for everyone, but they’re what drew us to the sweater in the first place.  Sure, it may not be a piece we’re wearing ten years from now, but this year and next it’ll definitely be in the rotation.
