To kick off 2015, we’ll be featuring five staples that we always have ready to wear.  In our opinion, the best way to build a wardrobe is to have fantastic staple pieces always at the ready, and though they may not be the flashiest items in your closet, nor should they be, these are the things that will see more wear over the next 360 days than anything else.  Most, if not all, of our five feature items this week, have been featured on our pages before, but all are worth revisiting.  We’re starting with the most basic of basics, a white dress shirt.  For these, we turn to Brooks Brothers.

Just how many different white dress shirts can you have?  Well, right now there are are more than 60 options on the Brooks Brothers website.  For us, the go to is the slim fit with button down collar.  While the non-iron version is also a solid pick, we feel like the traditional fabric is a better choice for the long run.  Not only would we suggest having at least two of these in your collection, you’ll also want to work in a couple of other collar options as time goes on.  If you’re someone who just can’t bring themselves to throw on a stark white shirt day in and day out, mix it up a little bit with a bold monogram.  Regardless of which fit and finish is best for you, Brooks Brothers White Dress Shirts will last a lifetime if you treat them right and will never be out of style.  Ever.
