No matter how cold it gets, it just doesn’t feel right for us not to have a pair of boatshoes at the ready.  Luckily, Sperry Top-Sider has us covered for this time of year with their Winter A/O’s.  The feature below originally ran on November 26, 2011.

It may be getting colder, and we may be layering up more than ever, but we just haven’t been able to bring ourselves to retire our boatshoes for the Winter.  Needless to say, it probably isn’t prudent to run around sockless in unlined shoes for much longer, and thanks to Sperry Top-Sider, and their Winter A/O’s, we won’t have to.

The first thing you will notice about the Winter A/O’s is that they look exactly like the regular version.  With Tru-Moc construction, siped soles, leather laces, and non-rust eyelets, these shoes are just as well suited for a day on the boat as any other pair of boatshoes on the market.  That being said, it’s what is inside the Winter A/O’s that really makes us smile, a thick shearling lining to keep your feet warm on a cold day.  While these shoes certainly won’t replace our winter boots, they will definitely be seeing some heavy use in the coming months.  If you love boatshoes as much as we do, the Winter A/O’s are an absolute “must have” as temperatures continue to fall.
