While it is easy for guys to throw on a pair of boatshoes and head out the door for nearly any occasion, the ladies in our lives tend to spend a bit more time when it comes picking out shoes.  Of course, boatshoes are always an option for the girls as well, but when the day’s events call for something with a bit more pop, a fun pair of ballet flats is never a bad choice.  Recently, we were introduced to a new brand based in Rhode Island called Tipsy Skipper.  Their ballet flats ($90) are definitely eye catching.

Founded by a descendant of well-known pirate, Captain Morgan, Tipsy Skipper has definitely embraced the idea of enjoying a few cocktails and spending the day on, or near, the water.  These ballet flats would be the perfect choice for either activity.  With five prints currently available (and more on the way), the cotton flats are the perfect compliment to any summer wardrobe.  Along with a cotton base, the shoes all feature a trim of grosgrain ribbon or leather.  While Tipsy Skipper has not hit stores yet, keep an eye on their website to learn about upcoming trunk shows in your area.
