Introduced in the 1930’s, it’s hard for us to believe that Sperry Top-Sider‘s CVO sneakers were seeing time on the decks of sailboats prior to our trusty A/O’s, but that’s the case. While these classics are yet to make their way into our footwear rotation, a just released version of them is about to change that. Now available in Chambray, the CVOs have taken on a whole new look.
The choice to use chambray as an upper is definitely a step away from Sperry’s traditional canvas for this shoe, but it’s one that we really love. Available in red, blue, black and tan, each pair of Chambray CVOs has a white rubber sole that features Sperry’s Wave-Siping to make sure your feet stay planted should things get a bit slippery. Finished off with a gingham lining and rawhide laces, the Chambray CVOs are a great casual alternative to your classic boatshoes whether you are on the water or not.
