There are a few things out there that we think everyone out there should own., and on that list is a great pair of duck boots.  Ours definitely see the most work this time of year, so for Bowtie Friday this week we’re revisiting a bow that pays homage, the Duck Boot Beau by Southern Proper.  The post below originally ran on December 29, 2010.

For the uninformed, bowties are reserved for formal events and special occasions.   For the rest of us, they are a way to change up the monotony of a typical shirt and tie, and also show a bit of character along the way.  Since we normally lean towards a more casual look in the office, we like the idea of bowties with a print that you normally wouldn’t expect to see on a tie.  One of our latest favorites is the Duck Boot Beau from Southern Proper.

Sure, this tie doesn’t feature boat shoes (stay tuned, we are working on one), but it does feature something else we love to wear this time of year, a classic pair of duck boots.  Just like all of the Southern Proper printed Beaus, the Duck Boot Beau is made of 100% textured silk and features an Italian wool lining.  In our opinion, the somewhat subdued color pallet used for this tie makes it a great option for the fall and winter.  In other words, pick one up now so you can wear it for the next few months.
