Yesterday, for the first time in what felt like ages, we went sockless. Was it a little overzealous? Probably. Did our feet freeze a little bit early on? Yep. Was it worth it? Absolutely! With Spring finally knocking on the door, our socks are about to be put away for the season (except for a pair we’ll be showing you on Friday), and we’ll be back to the sockless boatshoe and loafer look just about every day of the week. This year a new pair of loafers from Jay Butler will be going into rotation. Take a look at the Caramel Cromwell Penny Loafer.
In our opinion, our friends at Criquet Shirts are batting 1000 when it comes to additions to their Players Shirt collection. From different colors, to stripe patterns, to the addition of sleeves, we’ve never been disappointed. The trend continues with the latest addition to their lineup, the Wide Stripe Players Shirt.
Yesterday we watched helplessly as a fresh layer of bright white snow blanketed Annapolis. Had this storm come through in the middle of December we would have been fine with it, but now that March is here all we can think about is Spring coming and boats going back in the water. Today’s Bowtie Friday pick is a bow that will certainly see heavy wear from us during boating season and beyond. It’s the Anchor Bow from Bull + Moose.
Every time we visit Sid Mashburn, online or in person, we fall in love with something we’re not even looking for. On our last visit, it was a unique pair of driving mocs. More substantial than the moccasins we’re used to, but not quite as structured as a loafer, the All-Weather Driving Moccasins are a fantastic addition to any rotation.
Back in 2011, we featured an Old Try print for the first time. That print, General Manners No. 1, was our first interaction with Old Try, and four years later we’re pretty darn proud to call Micah and Marianna friends. Their company has grown by leaps and bounds over the last few years, and as much as we love the additional items that have helped their collection grow, their prints are what keep us coming back. Recently one of those prints really hit home, it’s called Six Eight.
Soon, well hopefully soon, it’ll be the time of year that we retire our heavy jackets and all we’ll need is a shell or heavy sweater to combat the cold. When that day finally arrives, we’ll have a new weapon in the arsenal as well. Part shirt, part jacket, the Bonobos Baxter Shirt Jacket is going to be perfect for those days that are just a bit too cold to skip an extra layer.
