With the Derby just around the bend, and the Spring and Summer party circuit heating up more and more every weekend, we’ve on a mission to add a few fun bowties to our collection ASAP. One place we always look for ties that have a bit of a twist to them is Social Primer, and their recently released Navy/White & Pink/Navy Bow is right up our alley.
As much as we love our Day-Glo Nylites from Sid Mashburn, this year we’re going to add a pair that is a bit more low key to the rotation. Yes, the bright pair will still see plenty of wear, but for days that things are a bit more subdued, the classic Sail/Peacoat color combination is probably going to be our go to this Summer.
We do our best to keep track of the latest and greatest things that are coming to market from our favorite brands, but every once in a while something pretty awesome slips through the cracks. Case in point are the Chappaqua Duffels by Hudson Sutler with an assist from Wm. Lamb & Son. How we missed these earlier this year will forever be a mystery.
With beach season bearing down upon us, we’ve started our search for some new trunks. There are some fantastic options hitting the market, and our friends at Southern Tide have a few new additions to their lineup that we really like. Our favorite of the bunch is the Skipjack Batik option.
We’d have never guessed it when we ordered them, but of all of the pants in our go to hell collection, the color that sees the most wear is green. It looks great with just about everything, and always manages to turn or head or two. This Summer, we’ll be giving our trusty Lawn Rangers a break from time to time. In their place will be a pair of green Bonobos Summer Weight Chinos.
Rarely, if ever, have we featured the same brand twice in one week. Well, that’s all changing thanks to the guys at Criquet. With the Masters in full swing, there was no way we could pass up a quick feature on their just released Caddy Suit.
Amen Corner has been known to make or break a man over the years at Augusta. Though the holes are tough, Amen Corner is also one of the most picturesque places on the grounds. The thirteenth hole, Azalea, is one of our favorites, and also the inspiration for this week’s Bowtie Friday pick, the Fuchsia Railroad Stripe Bow from Bird Dog Bay.
Today the rounds count, and we’ll be glued to coverage from the time the first group tees off until the last group putts out on 18. That said, we thought it was only appropriate to revisit a feature on a few of our favorite things from Augusta National. The post below originally ran on April 8, 2013.
If you look closely, odds are you’ll see some great looking needlepoint belts at The Masters. Matt Kuchar has been seen sporting one a few times, and, most likely, The King himself will be wearing one at some point during the week as well. For us, we love the idea of needlepoint on the course. We figure that if you’re out there to have fun, you may as well have a little fun with what you are wearing, too. If you need some new needlepoint for your next round, Smathers & Branson has you covered.
Yesterday a tweet went out from Southern Proper announcing the move of their office from Atlanta to Augusta for the rest of the week. As much as we’d love to visit the satellite office, the closest we’re going to get this week is their website, so today we’re featuring a few pieces from the Southern Proper collection that would look right at home at Augusta National.
