We’ve been singing the praises of Criquet Players Shirts for quite some time, and while we don’t plan on stopping anytime soon, today we’re featuring another fantastic option from Criquet. The gents down in Austin recently took the wraps off of a collection of button downs, and we couldn’t be more impressed.
Monday night, we made a comment on Twitter that Ray Lewis was looking sharp with a plaid shirt under his grey suit. The tweet stirred up a few comments on both sides of the fence, but we’re standing firm with our endorsement of the look. Beyond the plaid, another thing that caught our eye was Ray’s lapel flower. They’re popping up just about everywhere these days, and it’s a look we’ve grown to really appreciate. If you want to add a little flash next time you suit it up, check out the lapel flowers from hook+ALBERT.
As our friends at Ledbury are celebrating their fourth anniversary (talk about a fast rise to the top), we’re celebrating the continuing growth of their line. From accessories to blazers, to sweaters the team down in Richmond never ceases to impress us. Our pick today is their Thorpe Moto Henley Sweater.
We’re big believers that there is no such thing as “too many” oxfords. Beyond the classic solids, we’re always looking for a new pattern to add the rotation, and Bonobos just released one that really caught our attention. It’s their Rhodes Collar Oxford in Red & Blue Multicheck.
Our friend Joe has been a huge supporter of Bowties & Boatshoes for years. He’s spread the word about us to countless friends and colleagues, and we won’t ever be able to thank him enough for serving our country. All that said, every year there is one post that Joe absolutely hates. It’s this one. See, Joe is a West Point graduate and he is not too keen on the fact that our headline and message for the day is four simple words; Go Navy, Beat Army!
Enjoy the game everyone.
As bowtie aficionados, we not only love the ties themselves, but just about all things bowtie related. Today we’re wrapping up our week of gift guides with five bowtie themed items we’d love to find under our trees.

Over the last few years, we’ve been fortunate to work with a number of absolutely fantastic site sponsors. We were fans of each before they came on board, and are proud to call each and every one of them a partner. Today we’re happy to announce that we’ve brought all ten of our partners together for the biggest giveaway in Bowties & Boatshoes history. In one week, we’ll be choosing ten winners (one for each item listed below), and giving away over $1000 in prizes. Want to know what’s up for grabs and how you can win? Keep reading.
This year we’ve made quite the effort to get back in shape. Truth be told, there have been some ebbs and flows, but for the most part we’re pretty excited with the progress being made. Along the way we’ve picked up some pretty fantastic gear and today’s gift guide features a few of our favorite pieces.
We’re pretty big technology junkies here at Bowties & Boatshoes. Always on the hunt for a new gadget or gizmo, we love this stuff almost as much as our normal subject matter. For our second gift guide of the season, we’re featuring a few of our favorite tech picks.
